MC Magma Studio, nella sua sede di via Tortona 4, presenta l'atelier milanese di motorcycle design CR&S motorcycles - Café Racer & Superbikes.

CR&S motorcycles espone una prodigiosa realizzazione di design interamente fatta a mano, prodotta in poche decine di esemplari l'anno, denominata "DUU", in dialetto milanese "due", che rappresenta un modello unico nell'intero panorama motociclistico mondiale.

La CR&S motorcycles è una piccola azienda, unica factory a Milano per l'ideazione e la realizzazione di motociclette techno custom, esemplari unici, disegnati con uno stile ed una sapienza tutta italiana. Per raffinatezza ed esclusività delle proprie creazioni, a pochissimi anni dalla sua nascita, la CR&S è già diventata un esclusivo marchio di culto per la produzione di motociclette speciali, sia tra gli appassionati che tra i collezionisti ed esperti di bolidi personalizzati in edizione limitata.

Veri e propri modelli unici, opere d'arte cinetica, di assoluta precisione, ritagliati su misura per le richieste particolari dei clienti più esigenti. Ogni CR&S offre un'infinita gamma di varianti tecnico-estetiche che si configura attraverso un rapporto diretto cliente-costruttore.

Forme che generano forti emozioni, dal concept profondamente innovativo, ma sensibile alle più straordinarie tradizioni motociclistiche. In particolare quella italiana, in un'insolita "combine" con quella americana.

Il motore bicilindrico a V di tradizione americana, dal rinnovato fascino retrò, lo S&S serie X-Wedge 117" da 1916 centimetri cubici di cilindrata, permette alla DUU di avere prestazioni elevate, potenza poderosa ed emissioni contenute, con l'entrata in coppia per accelerazioni mozzafiato che vanno oltre l'immaginabile. DUU, CR&S motorcycles da MC Magma,

quando arte e design si fondono nell'ebbrezza dell'accelerazione

DUU, come uno spaghetti-western di Sergio Leone.

Un matrimonio con residue possibilità di divorzio tra due culture, italiana e americana, in un apparente duello all'ultimo sangue, creando un genere nuovo, decisamente più acuto e mordace dei due ceppi originari.

La DUU della CR&S (acronimo di Cafè Racers & Superbikes, fondata da Roberto Crepaldi nel 1992) ribalta e controverte tutti i canoni e i dogmi identitari dettati da tradizioni di due culture motoristiche formidabili, quella italiana e quella americana, creando qualcosa che non c'era prima, completamente differente, decisamente più accattivante e contemporanea.

DUU è come puro western italico. Affonda le radici in una sapienza che non nega la storia gloriosa del motociclismo italiano, rigorosamente esaltandola, ma senza farne un limite invalicabile.

Il motore della DUU è americano, un V-twin raffreddato ad aria, realizzato da uno specialista del Wisconsin, lo S&S Cycle, denominato X-Wedge 117'', di 1916 centimetri cubici. Sorprendentemente incapsulato nella micidiale ciclistica di acciaio inox, tutta italiana per le eccellenti doti di design, funzione, alta tecnologia, innovazione, stabilità, sicurezza, durata, maneggevolezza, raffinatezza, in una parola, bellezza. Ogni DUU è opera unica. Per ricercatezza ed esclusività delle proprie creazioni. Opere d'arte cinetica, funzionali, di assoluta precisione, ritagliate su misura per le richieste di stile e di guida dei clienti più esigenti.

DUU, sembra "parolibero-futurista" di marinettiana memoria, ma è dialetto milanese, DUU come due, due cilindri, due litri, 2000 cc, seconda realizzazione CR&S. A Milano nasce DUU, sotto le insegne della CR&S. Sempre a Milano un tale avrebbe scritto, dalla sua casa di via Senato due, dopo esser volato in un canale con la sua Isotta Fraschini per evitare due ciclisti: "DUU … è più bella della Nike di Samotracia." Ma DUU è opera contemporanea e già dal nome ricorda la "dualità degli opposti" come nella corsa in pista di due sidecar racers che corrono contemporaneamente in direzioni opposte, "Ascending and Descending Hacks", nell'opera di Matthew Barney, intitolata "Cremaster 4" del 1994, nel circuito intorno all'Isola di Man, proprio dove CR&S prova la DUU, sul Mountain Course. Questa dualità culturale convive nella DUU in un equilibrio magistrale, senza limiti di tempo, lontana dalle mode, anticipandole. E' decisamente un genere nuovo.

E' sui quattrocento metri, distanza da duello, da pista di fuoco, che la DUU sorprende. Ma ancora di più sorprende nel percorso misto, tra traffico cittadino e tornanti di montagna, dove la coppia paurosa ti lancia in assoluta sicurezza in un brivido profondo, quello del sogno CR&S, quello della DUU.

DUU è il sogno realizzato da un genio della moto, Roberto Crepaldi, costruttore-motociclista milanese, raffinato ed appassionato, colto compositore per speciali succhia-benzina a due ruote, interprete ed eccellente direttore d'orchestra del team, leader ispiratore del talentuoso Donato Cannatello, origini napoletane, chief designer della CR&S, tra i più coraggiosi e competenti motorcycle-designers italiani di ultima generazione, disegnatore instancabile di infinite creazioni corsaiole, designer della DUU in tutte le varianti più ardite, in un abile gioco di squadra che vede protagonista tra gli altri l'ingegnere Giuseppe Bulla, chief engineer, laureato con il massimo dei voti, cum laude, all'Università di Brescia in ingegneria meccanica con una tesi sulla CR&S - DUU, studiando in particolare la realizzazione del suo innovativo telaio in acciaio inox.

Roberto Crepaldi realizza il suo sogno partendo da lontano, è stato amico e socio di lunga data degli scomparsi Carlo Talamo e John Britten. Il primo, indiscusso lume delle due ruote, romano, appassionato preparatore ed esteta, attento al rilancio e l'importazione di marchi storici anglosassoni e americani a Milano, fonda con Roberto Crepaldi la Numero Uno, reintroducendo l'Harley-Davidson in Italia. Il secondo, John Britten, neozelandese, geniale ingegnere e artefice eclettico, preparatore di moto da corsa, un'autentica leggenda del motociclismo mondiale, ha incrementato dal 1993 la propensione di Roberto Crepaldi alle moto estreme. La CR&S BRITTEN - V1000 partecipa con successo a competizioni in tutto il mondo, facendo della CR&S un team, una fantastica squadra corse. Alla morte di John Britten, Roberto Crepaldi si ritira dalle corse iniziando una fase di riflessione e studio. Nel 2002 insieme a Roberto Crepaldi, entrano a far parte della CR&S altri due personaggi eccellenti, motociclisti e imprenditori milanesi, Giovanni Cabassi, fotografo e Giorgio Sarti, ingegnere, giornalista e autore di alcuni libri su moto storiche che hanno fatto epoca, quali Laverda, Bimota, ed altre. Tutti insieme per condividere e supportare la CR&S. Nel 2004 un altro nome di primo piano entra a far parte della CR&S come partner, Roberto Pattoni, patron della Paton, glorioso marchio milanese per moto da gran premio dal 1958.

Una grande squadra la CR&S, già una grande storia, tutta da scrivere.

MC Magma Studio, in its space at 4 Tortona Street, presents Milanese motorcycle design atelier CR&S motorcycles - Café Racer & Superbikes.

CR&S motorcycles showcases a stunning design production completely made by hand, produced in a few tens of copies a year, named "DUU", in Milanese dialect "two", which represents an unique model in the motorcycling world.

CR&S motorcycles is a small workshop, the only factory in Milan for ideation and realization of motorcycles techno custom, unique exemplars, filled with a style to acknowledge all things Italian.

For the perfection and exclusivity of the its own creations, not so far from its roots, CR&S has already become an exclusive cult brand for the production of special motorcycles among estimators, collectors and experts of personalized limited edition of the 'two wheel rocket'.

Genuine unique models, kinetic art works of precision, tailored to the particular requests of the most demanding clients. Every CR&S is unique, offers an infinite range of technical and aesthetic variations, and is through a direct relationship between the Client-Constructor.

Forms that evoke strong emotions with a very innovative concept but also sensible in the more extraordinary motorcycle traditions. In a special way that puts Italians motorcycling tradition in an unusual "combine" with that one American.

Exalting the mechanics of its components, CR&S motorcycles creates only with the aim to reach a better qualitative and aesthetic level, without putting any kind of limit on the technological innovation.

DUU, as a spaghetti-western by Sergio Leone.

A wedding with the lingering possibility of divorce between two cultures, Italian and American, apparently a last blood duel, creating a new genre definitely more penetrating and mordacious with respect to the two original traditions.

DUU by CR&S (acronym of Cafè Racers & Superbikes, founded by Roberto Crepaldi in1992) turns over and puts in doubt all identity standards and dogmas dictated by the different extraordinary traditions of two motorcycling cultures, one Italian and one American, creating something new, completely different, definitely more attractive and contemporary. DUU is a genuine Italic western. It sinks to the roots in a knowledge that doesn't deny the glorious history of Italian motorcycling, exalting it rigorously, but without making it an insurmountable limit.

DUU's engine is American, V-twin and air-cooled, built by a specialist of Wisconsin's S&S Cycle, and named the X-Wedge 117'' 1916 c.c. Surprisingly enclosed in the incredible stainless steel chassis, all Italian for the excellent design qualities, is functionality, high technology, innovation, stability, security, durability, manageability, elegance, in one word beauty. Every DUU is a unique masterpiece. For refinement and exclusivity of one's own creations. Works of kinetic art, functional, works of absolute precision, tailored to the particular requests of the most demanding clients.

DUU, seems 'parolibero-futurista' by Marinetti's memory, but it is Milanese dialect, DUU as two, two cylinder, two liters, 2000 cc, CR&S' second production. In Milan DUU was born, under the sign of CR&S. Always in Milan a fellow would have written, from his home at two Senato Street, after being thrown into a canal by his Isotta Fraschini for avoiding two bikers :"DUU…is more beautiful that Samotracia's Nike." ( Filippo Tommaso Marinetti ).

But DUU is contemporary art work and the name brings to mind the 'duality of opposites' as in the race of two sidecar racers who run contemporaneously in different opposite directions, "Ascending and Descending Hacks", in Matthew Barney's work, titled "Cremaster 4" of 1994, on the track around the Isle of Man, exactly where CR&S tests DUU on the Mountain Course. This cultural duality coexists in DUU in a superb balance, without time limit, far from trends but anticipating them. It's surely a new genre.

It's on four hundred meters, a distance for duel, by fire track, that DUU surprises. But it's still more incredible in the mixed route, among town traffic and mountain hairpin turns, where a very impressive muscular torque throws you in absolute security in a deep thrill, that one CR&S' dream, the DUU.

DUU is the dream built by motorcycles genius, Roberto Crepaldi, Milanese builder-biker, refined and passionate, educated composer of special two wheel gasoline-guzzlers, interpreter and excellent orchestral director of the team, inspiring leader of the skillful Donato Cannatello, Neapolitan native, CR&S' chief designer, among the more brave and competent Italian motorcycle-designers of the last generation. An untiring designer of infinitive racing creations, Duu's designer for all its versions, also those more particular, in a sapient team play who sees a leading role among the others Giuseppe Bulla, chief engineer, graduated in mechanical engineering with maximum marks and honours at Brescia's University, with a dissertation upon CR&D - DUU, particularly studying the production of his innovative stainless steel frame. Roberto Crepaldi has been working to reach his dream for many years. He has been the friend and partner of Carlo Talamo and John Britten, both passed away. The first, doubtless a two wheels leader, a Roman native, an ebullient preparer and aesthete, attentive to the re-launch and importation of Anglo-Saxon and American historic motorcycles brands to Milan. Founded with Roberto Crepaldi 'Numero Uno', reintroducing Harley Davidson in Italy. The second, John Britten of New Zealand, a genial engineer and eclectic artificer, motorcycle race preparer, a real motorcycling legend all over the world. Since 1993 Britten has developed Roberto Crepaldi's propensity to extreme motorcycles. CR&S BRITTEN - V1000 successfully participates in competitions all around the world, making of CR&S a team, a fantastic racing team. When John Britten passed away, Roberto Crepaldi retired from racing starting a period of reflection and study. In 2002, two other important leading players join CR&S with Roberto Crepaldi, two excellent partners, both motorcyclists and Milanese entrepreneurs, Giovanni Cabassi, photographer and Giorgio Sarti, engineer and author of books about historical motorcycles that have marked an epoch: Laverda, Bimota and others. All together to share and support CR&S. In 2004, another important name joined CR&S as a partner, Roberto Pattoni, leader of Patton, glorious Milanese brand for Great Premium bikes since 1958.

CR&S a great team, already a great history to be written.
